Corey Harris driving video: Man with suspended license appears in Michigan court over Zoom while driving

If you are accused of driving with a suspended license, you probably should not show up to a virtual court hearing while driving.

That’s exactly what happened at a hearing in Washtenaw County, Michigan, earlier this month — and the judge couldn’t hide his shock.

When defendant Corey Harris logged in via Zoom, he could be seen behind the wheel. He even said he was taken to his doctor’s office.

“Your Honor, we respectfully request an adjournment of this matter, possibly for three to four weeks if the court permits,” a lawyer said during the hearing.

“OK, so maybe I’m misunderstanding something. Is this driving on a suspended license?” asked Judge Cedric Simpson.

“That’s correct, Your Honor,” the lawyer responds.

Shortly afterward, Judge Simpson revoked Harris’ bond and ordered him to surrender by 6 p.m.

“Oh my God,” Harris gasps before the hearing ends.

Court records show Harris was charged with driving on a suspended license in October of last year.
