DC police say woman dies after hijacked vehicle crash

A woman died Monday after another woman allegedly stole the vehicle she was in at Washington Hospital Center and drove through downtown Washington, crashing into a concrete barrier outside the district attorney’s office from DCUS, police said.

Deputy DC Police Chief Darnell Robinson said officers arrested a woman who was trying to flee the scene of the crash at the corner of 6th and D streets NW. He did not identify the woman who allegedly stole the vehicle or the victim at a news conference.
