Up to 10 people shot at Rochester Hills splash pad; the shooter was “confined”

Rochester Hills — At least ten people were shot in a water spray area in Rochester Hills around 5 p.m. Saturday after a “random” gunman got out of a vehicle and fired 28 shots from a handgun. fist in a curbside park, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.

The shooting happened at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad, 1585 E. Auburn Road, in Rochester Hills, according to the Rochester Police Department and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooter drove to the water park, got out of a vehicle, opened fire with a 9mm handgun, reloaded, fired, then reloaded a second time, leaving three bullet magazines at the scene, declared Bouchard.
