Chicago Fire Crews Battle Massive Fire at West Town Pallet Yard on West Hubbard Street | LIVE

CHICAGO (WLS) — Emergency crews are on the scene of a massive fire in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood Tuesday evening.

The fire, visible from ABC7 Chicago’s Willis Tower camera, is at a pallet yard in the 2000 block of West Hubbard Street.

Helicopter 7 was on scene around 6:30 p.m., and firefighters could be seen dousing large flames, as black smoke billowed into the air.

The Chicago Fire Department said on X, formerly known as Twitter, that no injuries had been reported as of 7 p.m.

Neither the Chicago Fire Department nor Chicago Police immediately provided any information on how the fire started.

A massive fire in West Town was visible from downtown Chicago on Tuesday.

Inbound and outbound Union Pacific West trains are stopped due to the fire, which is occurring near train tracks near Western Avenue, Metra said.

Significant delays are expected and commuters are encouraged to seek alternative transportation, the commuter rail agency said.
