A man believed to be linked to an investigation into a death in Deep River and several stabbings in Massachusetts over the weekend is due in court Tuesday.
Over the weekend, a death investigation took place in Deep River. Police responded to Deep River shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday to report a disturbance.
Once there, the police discovered a body. The identity of the person has not been released. It is clear how the person died.
The death in Deep River is believed to be linked to multiple stabbings in Massachusetts. NBC 10 Boston has several law enforcement sources linking the two cases.
Police in Braintree, Massachusetts. said a man entered AMC Braintree 10 around 6 p.m. Saturday, walked past the ticket window, entered one of the theaters without paying and stabbed four young girls in an unprovoked attack. The girls, aged 9 to 17, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Three of the stabbed girls are sisters. Their mother said the man came up behind them when they were already seated and stabbed one in the back, one in the chest and one in the arm while he was laughing the whole time.
“You should be able to go to the movies. I mean, someone should be able to show a ticket to get in there. Someone shouldn’t be able to just walk in anyway. But yes, you can’t live at home, but this is happening more and more. It makes parents sick to take their children anywhere or let them go anywhere without them. That’s absolutely how I feel,” said Lisa Dembowski, the mother of three of the stabbed girls.
In a statement, AMC said it was conducting a thorough review of the incident and that a visible security presence would be in place at the location for the immediate future.
