2 dead, 7 injured after shooting in suburban Pittsburgh bar

PENN HILLS, Pennsylvania. (AP) — A shooting at a suburban Pittsburgh bar left two people dead and seven others injured, police said Sunday.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s homicide unit said it responded to a request for help from the Penn Hills Police Department after the early morning shooting at Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar in Penn Hills.

First responders discovered the bodies of an adult man and woman inside the bar around 3 a.m. Sunday. Seven additional victims have been found. Some were transported from the scene and other victims went to area hospitals, Allegheny County police said in a statement posted on social media.

One of the victims is in critical condition. The other victims all had injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the release.

Preliminary information shows that “an altercation took place inside the bar and several individuals opened fire,” county police said.

The press release did not specify whether any suspects were in custody.
