Evacuation ordered, I-580 partially closed as crews battle grass fires in San Joaquin County

Multiple agencies responded Saturday to a grass fire in San Joaquin County that burned thousands of acres. The Cal Fire website shows the fire has grown to 4,940 acres. The fire is near West Corral Hollow Road, south of Tracy. The San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services said an evacuation order was issued for residents west of the California Aqueduct, south of Corral Hollow Creek, west of Alameda County and southern Stanislaus County. There is a temporary evacuation point at the Lact Clover Community Center in Tracy. A large animal shelter is being established at 2271 West Louise Avenue in Manteca. Interstate 580 was closed at Corral Hollow Creek due to the fire.
