San Francisco 1906: The earthquake that shook up seismology
On April 18, 1906, San Francisco suffered a magnitude 7.9 earthquake. The earthquake and the fires that caused it destroyed a large part of the city near the bay.
LOS ANGELES – Residents in the Los Angeles area reported feeling an earthquake Sunday morning.
The magnitude 3.5 earthquake occurred about 2.5 miles (4 km) south-southwest of South Pasadena in Los Angeles County just before 10 a.m. Pacific Time, according to the U.S. Geological Survey ( USGS).

Thousands of people across Southern California reported feeling USGS shaking, including in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Glendale and the San Bernardino area.
So far, no injuries or damage have been reported.
