A shooting at a party in Compton left one person dead and several others hospitalized Friday night.
The incident happened at a home near Greenleaf Boulevard and South Mayo Avenue around 8 p.m., according to the Compton Sheriff’s Station.
At least one person died and four others were reportedly injured.
Sky5 footage from the scene shows police surrounding a house with a large garden. One person was seen lying near the pool, but authorities have not released the extent of their injuries.
Several parts of the yard were cordoned off as investigators searched the property for evidence.
Several awnings and covered seating areas in the backyard appeared to have been knocked over while a lot of debris was scattered across the lawn.
The circumstances of the shooting remain clear. The house is located near the Compton College campus.
