A major New York-based auto dealer advocacy group will host a fundraiser for the governor. Kathy Hochul – just days after indefinitely suspending the controversial congestion pricing system for part of Manhattan.

The Greater New York Automobile Association is hosting a Hochul fundraiser at the Center for Automotive Education & Training in Queens on Tuesday.

The group is asking for suggested donations of $5,000 to $10,000, according to an event flyer.

“Governor Hochul has been a strong supporter of our industry, and this reception provides a great opportunity to engage directly with her and show our collective support for her continued leadership,” says the May 28 flyer announcing the event.

Hochul shockingly put the brakes on the tolling program on Wednesday, saying she was suspending it “indefinitely” because it’s not the right time with New Yorkers facing a cost of living crisis.

GNYADA opposes the congestion toll pricing plan.

Hochul is a longtime benefactor of car dealerships.
