Three shootings in Seattle leave one dead and a child and a man seriously injured

A man was killed and three people injured, including a child, in shootings Saturday evening and early Sunday, police said.

Officers responding to a report of a person shot found a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 1000 block of Occidental Avenue South around 3:48 a.m. The shooting occurred near Lumen Field.

He died at the scene. Police found a handgun, but did not say whether the weapon was involved in the shooting. No arrests have been made, police said.

Police reported two more shootings overnight.

A young girl was shot in the neck around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of 29th Avenue South, police said. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is in serious condition.

No arrests have been made.

Police did not provide details such as the girl’s age or whether the shooting took place outside.

Around 9:49 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Minor Avenue. They found a 26-year-old man suffering from two gunshot wounds.

He was transported to Harborview in serious condition.

Police said the injured man and another man were involved in a shooting. This other man has not been found, according to police.

A bullet grazed a 39-year-old security guard as he tried to intervene. His injury is not life-threatening.

Police found two firearms at the scene. No one has been arrested, according to police.
